Dm500s jtag tools

Those clones weren't meant to be recovered. Clone buyers beware: make sure your receiver has JTAG connector pads onboard! Originally Posted by gw1. Hello As written above, it must desolder the flash memory Then reprogram the flash memory with a universal programming Here the specific adapter.

Last edited by bemol; at AM. Now there's dedication for you. Kids, don't try this at home! Those are some of the tricks that we used to do in the old days to overclock Intel processors!

Ah, the nostalgia. But practically, with the soldering skills, tools and eyesight of most people, it's usually a bin job. I can't do half of what I used to do twenty years ago with my eyesight nowadays. This is great! Thank you very much bemol. I like this very much. I will hijack my daughter's microscope and see what I can do. If I ruin the board then so what its heading to the bin anyway. If I manage to resurrect it the hey Great! Thanks again. Will let you know with my progress. This thing worked!

What a weekend and a day! I managed to resurrect a corrupted dms mobo that has no jtag pins. I gathered all info about the jtag pins and was left with only one pin missing - pin 1 of the jtag.

Thanks to bemol he pointed out the location of the pin. I followed his post above. My first attempt was wrong. I painstakingly scrape the varnish on the side of the CPU using my daughter's microscope and a scalpel and then manage to solder a wire onto it. It looked perfect but when I fire up the bootloader it won't connect.

I reviewed what I did and found that I worked on the wrong pin. See the first photo. I suggest to use a x to x magnification for this exercise if people will be doing it themselves. SO I had to do the same thing again on the other side where Pin20 is located - third photo shows where my first attemp and the correct location.

But this time my hands are abit tired and a bit more shaky. I manage to completely cut half of the copper as I scrape the varnish. I had to scrape more this time very close to the CPU black plastic top. Adios Amigo" The dreambox doesn't start up afterwards.

He had image Gemini 4. I doubt he had gemini 4. I guess he should try flashing it with dream up and loading either gemini 4. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read. Unfortunately it seems they sneaked a timed bomb in gemini 4.

This is very nasty way of fighting against cloned boxes, as it will cost people money if the box can't be repaired. I am actually considering we boycott gemini team on this board and remove all their images. Maybe we should put it up on vote. If someone wants to try and save their box I think it should be possible with jtag, I imagine it just destroyed the boot sector. It should be possible to recover by loading it over jtag interface. At least people claim it is possible.

I wouldn't know for sure, never personally tried jtag procedure. Archive contains pin outs for jtag, boot files for dm and windows tool. Attached Files dreamboxbootloader. Adios Gemini! My friend bought a year ago "original" dm in legal sat shop it was around euros cost ,now his box is dead.

Anyway they dont know nothing about bombs in receivers So it is very nasty from ihad team to say that everybody knows when buying dm, is it original box or not. Thread Tools Show Printable Version. But there are many, many, great other websites out there dealing with the DreamBox You can flash diferent firmwares on it. There is no longer product from the dreambox-company so only can be get used one or new from third party producers.

By covert in forum Dreambox. Visit the below link: Thanks for that you make it look sooooo easy with that guide. Yes a LNB will work with C1 if that is what you are asking but you need to set this up under satellite configuration on the drembox my video above shows how to configure it to a LNB.
