Medium body, light tannins and a bright and fresh finish. I love the tangy and crisp acidity at the end. G Classico: 92 score Here is a red with pretty raspberry and floral components to the nose. Medium body, integrated tannins and a fine finish. Drink now or hold. Full body, yet bright and lively. Real grillo! Full body, round tannins and a fruity finish. Sour cherry flavors, too. Full body and ripe yet dusty and well-structured tannins. A fine line of acidity and an opulent but driven finish.
The firm palate offers dried blackberry, licorice and leather notes alongside fine-grained tannins. Close-grained tannins give it a firm, astringent finish.
The palate recalls fleshy blackberry and black cherry jam, rounded with smooth, ripe tannins. The juicy palate offers blueberry jam, vanilla and leather touches alongside velvety tannins.
The silky, easy-drinking palate offers succulent Marasca cherry, black raspberry, white pepper and a hint of clove alongside lithe tannins and fresh acidity. It finishes on a tangy saline note. Perfumed scents of black cherry, violet, licorice and cardamom, with a tarry nuance adding complexity. Sappy, penetrating and expansive on the palate, offering densely packed but light on their feet dark fruit flavors.
A big, rich wine that features smooth tannins and lingering violet perfume on the long finish. Raspberry, dark cherry and sassafras, with hints of violet and smoke.
Fleshy and smooth in texture, offering spicy dark berry, cocoa and balsamic oil flavors. Finishes slightly chunky, with very good length.
Delicately smoky aromas of red fruits, plum, camphor and herbs, lifted by a bright floral nuance. Enters plush and gentle, then a little tighter in the middle, showing very good focus to the plum and black cherry flavors.

Fresh, juicy and concentrated, offering vibrant citrus and herbal flavours, plus hints of iodine and quinine. The long, floral finish has outstanding focus and energy. Offers a rich mouth feel, with just the right touch of spicy black pepper and nutmeg to prevent the wine from coming off as too easy.
Finished with ripe tannins and some complexity. Very floral aroma of intense, ripe red cherry shows less of the vegetal streak of past vintages. Fruity and fresh on the palate, with deceptive concentration to its sour red cherry, red plum and cranberry flavors; I picked up a charming suggestion of cherry cola.
Minerals and a hint of faded violet on the finish. Attractive if uncomplicated aromas of red cherry and redcurrant. Bright and clean on entry, then fresh in the middle, with crunchy red fruit flavors of modest weight and complexity. This would be ideal served slightly chilled in warm weather.

Spicy and leafy nuances complicate aromas and flavors of ripe red and black cherry, coffee and cocoa.
Polished on the palate, with bright, harmonious acidity and smooth tannins providing solid supporting backbone. The long finish shows a peppery edge.
Mineral-tinged aromas of red berries and flowers show a slightly green edge. Then richer and brighter on the palate, with the ripe red fruit flavors complicated by deep herbal and tarry nuances.
Finishes a bit hot, with only moderate length for an important wine. Over ripe aromas and flavors of dried red cherry, raisins and sweet spices. Enters the mouth soft and ripe, but then turns tough and tannic on the back half. This wine lacks nuance and grace today: is it possible that a couple more years in bottle will help turn it around?
Finishes long and clean with a bright floral echo. A stellar Frappato that makes it impossible to put the glass down. Well-knit and balanced, ending with a lightly smoky finish. Drink nowthrough Tasted twice, with consistent notes. The smooth, juicy palate delivers concentrated raspberry and black cherry flavors, with hints of licorice and Mediterranean herbs.

Medium to full body, bright acidity and a mineral finish. Goes on for minutes. Labels: red wine , rioja , Spanish , tempranillo.
Central Coast syrahs are some of my favorite syrahs. Warm summer days and cooler nights from the coastal influence lengthen the ripening season building complexity in the maturing grapes.
First, don't let the screw top fool you. I opened this one night, finishing it the next, and it overnighted extremely well without gas or refrigeration. A deep ruby color, it starts off a bit tight on the palate but opens over time.
Black plum and mulberry with hints of oak toast and grippy but not overbearing tannins. On the second night it showed more fruit forwardness: jammier with lush blackberry overtones. Alcohol: Labels: central coast , red wine , syrah. I like Italian wines because they taste ripe, yet are low in alcohol. Bright and fresh, the wine spent 6 months in stainless no oak. Tannins provided by the skins are lightly grippy but balanced by the vibrant cherry fruit flavors.
A touch of herbaliciousness, some cranberry astringency tweaked by bing cherry depth. Labels: Italian , nero d'avola , red wine. Extremely well made, high quality swill and I mean that in the most adoring way. Rich Carneros fruit. A hint of cherry cola just enough acidity - this is drink-now wine but you could put away for a year or two and be happy with the outcome , strawberry and some cherry.
My first impression said it tasted hotter than Sponge worthy. Labels: carneros , pinot noir , red wine. I kept trying to think of a clever way to start this write up but couldn't. Really, the wine speaks for itself. I first discovered this a few years ago.
